GALLERY 2 / COMMUNITY

Located on the first floor, this Gallery has an open floor-plan to accommodate presentations & programs. It features exhibits that are rotated throughout the year and are largely designed by CCHS Museum volunteers and community members.  The displays featured for the Winter and Spring of 2016 are Vintage Toys and Games by Warren Nash and the Carol Ann Ladies Fasion Collection by Peg Weeks.

GALLERY 3 / CULTURE

Located on the second floor, this Gallery features Victorian era artifacts, notably dolls & doll houses, period dresses, sofas, chairs, and stoves. The most outstanding piece is a solid tiger maple poster bed reportedly slept in by LaFayette.

GALLERY 4 / COLONIAL

Located on the second floor, this Gallery covers the history of Chenango County from 1789 to 1900. The extensive story boards cover the histories of the Clinton-Sullivan Campaign, The Vermont Sufferers, The Julian Family, Pioneer Folk Life and more.Notable exhibit items include ladies fashions, The Juliand Flow Blue collection, artworks, pioneer era guns, and the Ox Cart. The exhibit is utilized in CCHS’ education programming and featured in our Distance Learning presentations.

GALLERY 6 / MILITARY

Located on the second floor, this Gallery covers Chenango County Residents’ involvement in our country’s wars. Of note on display is a replica of the Confederate Prisoner-Of-War camp where Chenango County Union prisoners were housed.
