Early Bird Registration Now Open for Summer Barn Party to Benefit CCHS

The Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) will host the museum’s annual Summer Barn Party from 6-8:30 p.m. on June 29 at 41 Rexford St., Norwich. This year’s theme is inspired by the newest Community Gallery exhibit, “Sixpence in Your Shoe: A Glimpse at Chenango County Wedding Traditions.”

To highlight the matrimonial motif, Live Event NY has partnered with CCHS to coordinate the festivities, which include delicious catered wedding reception fare, beverage tastings from local establishments, music by DJ Jim Baldwin, and photos by 5th Dimension Photography. Central New York’s premier source for quality event services and production, Live Event NY is known for creating once-in-lifetime celebrations and memorable occasions.

“Our ‘Sixpence in Your Shoe’ exhibit is a place where timeless traditions meet the unique charm of local communities,” said CCHS Executive Director Jessica Moquin. “Thanks to the generosity of Live Event NY, this year’s Summer Barn Party will be a true celebration of these classic wedding traditions. We look forward to creating new memories that are rooted in shared love of our local heritage!”

The ultimate way to enjoy a summer evening, the Summer Barn Party is a major fundraiser for CCHS, attracting hundreds of community supporters each year. Proceeds support a significant portion of the organization’s annual operating budget. Early bird registration is available by visiting https://chenangohistorical.org/events/cchs-2023-summer-barn-party/ now through June 23.

First established in 1939, CCHS is the primary organization dedicated to actively and comprehensively preserving the history of Chenango County. The area’s premier heritage museum, the organization celebrates local culture – unique traditions, noteworthy residents, and unusual stories of the region. CCHS programs are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature.
