Annual “Summer Barn Party” in support of the Chenango County Historical Society and Museum
Local Heritage
For more than eight decades, the Chenango County Historical Society (CCHS) has served our
community, providing opportunities to explore regional culture through preservation and presentation of
our local heritage.
Annual Tradition
On Thursday, June 25, CCHS will once again host our annual Summer Barn Party, a celebration of food,
fun, and friends. This year’s theme is inspired by our newest Community Gallery exhibit, Chenango
County’s “Better Half,” The Life and Works of Randy Glasbergen. The Summer Barn Party traditionally
hosts over 150 guests.
Community Celebration
In keeping with this summer tradition, party guests will enjoy a delicious catered reception featuring
beverage tastings from local establishments. We would be delighted should your establishment choose to
join us for this year’s event! With your participation, we are sure to achieve our goals, allowing us to
continue preserving and presenting our local heritage.
Event Details
Festivities are scheduled to take place from 5-7 pm in the center of the museum campus. We ask you to
please plan on arriving along the north entrance, located just next to 12 Berry Street, and have all
products and materials unloaded no later than 4:20 pm. (Party guests tend to start arriving as early as
4:40 pm.) CCHS staff and volunteers will be available to assist with the unloading process. Once products
and materials have been dropped off at your designated serving site, we ask that you please park your
vehicle along Berry Street so as to leave sufficient room on the campus lawn for Summer Barn Party
activities.
Samples
Please anticipate providing 1-2 modest-sized samples of products to each of our Summer Barn Party
guests. While guests are welcome to purchase products directly from you during the event, please note
that all purchases made during the Summer Barn Party must remain sealed until guests have left the
premises and returned home.
Site Logistics
Each Tasting Vendor will be provided with one pop-up tent, one six-foot table, and two chairs.
